CLUB AND GROUP HOLIDAYS
|

The idea
Take a group of friends, associates, fellow walkers, adventurers. Put them on a plane and 2 hours away lies this amazing adventure.
The adventure might be, walking the hidden and unknown mountains of the Sierra Baja. Exploring a big canyon. Climbing some unspoiled piece of limestone, or just learn to climb, and abseil. Mountain bike one of the many forester tracks, stopping in little villages for rest and refueling.
Take out the red armada on a day of sea kayaking, and coastal sun. Swimming, exploring, and kayak fishing.
If this all seems to much like hard work, lets take out the boat and go to the beach, or visit the Valor chocolate factory and sample some of their wares.
Finish the days exciting adventures with a cooling swim in the 25metre, natural spring fed pool, or just sit on the patio and enjoy a drink as you watch the sun creep towards the horizon.

Walking
The limestone mountains are little known and have some of the most impressive, epic walks that you will find any where. I am often reminded of Yosemite whilst wondering over the peaks.
Walks vary in length and time. On a tough day you can do 20-km's of ridge walking, and 1400 meters of ascent, with 360 degree views of the endless mountains disappearing into the horizon. Epic summits are had on the Puig Campana (Bell mountain). This mountain will follow you around until you have to climb it. For easier days there are great valley or contour walks. Stopping off in another village for a snack and a cold coke, you get a feel of how Spain was,100 years ago. There are literally thousands of different walks to be done, of which I know a small percentage and learning more every day.

Climbing and Abseiling
Spanish limestone, warm and friendly, makes this activity fun, safe and inviting. Very easy climbs for that first go, and if you feel ready, try something a little harder, always on a rope so if you slip you are totally protected and safe.
Abseiling, often an activity that people really want to try but never felt quite brave enough. Well the opportunity is here for you to ‘give it a go’ with safe experienced instructors to keep you safe and feel the thrill of controlled descent!!

Canyoning
The Baranc Del Infern is situated in the middle of an amazing valley containing more then 10 000 moorish steps. This is a full day of walking scrambling and abseiling.
Who can do it, anyone with a little courage. If you have no prior experience in these things, we will do a familiarization course, the day before on the safety of the lawn, with a beer in hand. You will learn to abseil and you will be evaluated as a group by the leader.
We have taken groups from 8 year old scouts to 70 year old ramblers. It is do-able.

Kayaking
Double and single sea kayaks, comfortable, stable and easy to paddle. This is such a fun activity and even better in the warm waters of the Med! Instructors accompany the group at all times which provides ample opportunity to acquire or improve those kayaking skills. The difference between Canoe and Kayak, canoe you kneel and use single paddle, kayak you sit and use double ended paddle
Cycling
This can either be hard core or easy.
This part of the world is only ever up or down. If you want hard we ride up and down all the hills. If you want easy we only ride up the one we want to ride up, maybe stopping in a village for a drink.
Caving
We have a few medium sized caves that we go exploring.
Other activities
We can boat, fish, paraglide and horse ride.

The weather and time for your adventure
It is strictly a 3 seasons affair. From September through to June. The season starts here just as the mad rush on the coast finishes. The weather cools to comfortable and we pull out our boots, kayak and gear. The coast is abandoned and left for us, the intrepid explorers, until the next mad summer rush. It is not unusual to go to the coast for a swim and a beer after a days walking (in December) and find we're the only ones there.
We have more than 300 days of sun. Winter solstice: there are 9.5 hours of day light. Summer solstice: there are 17.5 hours of day light. If it rains it is almost certainly only for one or 2 days, but even so the temperature stays high.
Snow is rare (1-2 times a year on the peaks of the highest mountains), but the next day should be clear blue skies which is the thing most common here. Spring starts at the end of February when the almonds start to bloom.
