8 day Venture Package
This package offers a combination of energetic and exciting adventures. The emphasis is on discovering and enjoying our unique natural environment, culture and history.

    Day 1 - Fly in to Alicante, transfer to Hort de Gloria. Afternoon welcome and orientation walk.

    Day 2 - Mountain biking along rugged yet relatively undemanding tracks, breaking for lunch with magnificent views at the 'pantano' (reservoir/dam), followed by a long and pleasurable descent home.
    Afternoon ride through farmlands and along village lanes before being collected or biking along the mountain tracks of l'Alt de Sella. Enjoy lunch and

    Day 3 - Sea Kayaking: After an introduction to the use of the equipment and safety procedures, paddle the Costa Blanca on one of the beautiful routes between Villajoyosa and Calpe. Picnic lunch on one of the idyllic beaches en route. A great day's paddling next to towering cliffs and long beaches.

    Day 4 -Hiking: Hike to the summit of the majestic Puig Campana. Enjoy vast panoramas of the scenery below, stretching to Ibiza on a clear day. An easy 7-hours walk, including an hour's break for lunch. Return to Sella for an early evening drink in the village plaza.

    Day 5 - Caving and abseiling: Discover the hidden cave "De Polina". A 4X4 Drive up the rugged "El Contador" pass followed by a spectacular walk to the cave entrance. A round route through the cave takes between 1 and 1 1/2 hours. Visit rooms such as the Piano Room and play the stalactite organ. Lunch at top of mountain with spectacular 360&Mac251; views. After lunch abseiling at the local climbing walls in preparation for canyoning the following day.

    Day 6 - Canyoning: Barranc de l'Infern is a natural wonder, cutting though the valley of Vall de Laguar. In some places the gorge is barely 3m wide, towering hundreds of meters above. After an early breakfast a one and a half-hours drive through beautiful unspoiled countryside, followed by a 40-minute walk to the entrance of the gorge. The gorge takes between 3 - 5 hours depending on group sizes and water level. The walk from the end of the gorge takes + 1 hour and follows one of Valencia's most beautiful walking paths. (The highest abseil is ±13m)


    Day 7 - A free day to explore the area or relax by the pool. Write to a friend, read a book, pick fruit from our orchards - the choice is yours. A shuttle service is available for visits to coastal towns and local markets. The adrenaline junkies can also go karting, quad biking or tandem paragliding, by arrangement.

    Day 8 - Breakfast, shuttle to Airport and fly home.

    Centrally based at either Hort de Gloria, an old farm villa 3km from the traditional Spanish village of Sella, or El Mirador guest house in the village itself. Sella is situated in an unspoilt valley of ancient olive and almond terraces surrounded by the magnificent mountains of the Sierra Aitana.
    Double rooms sharing or dormitory style.



    Activities are best suited for all months except December January & February.


    Meals: breakfast (x7); lunch (x6); Dinner (x7)

    Breakfasts - at all accommodation, cereal, yoghurt, toast, sweat buns, fruit, coffee and tea.
    Lunch - Spanish baguette with various toppings, fruit and a sweet. Snacks of almonds, dates etc. are also given.
    Dinner - Three-course meal, mainly traditional Spanish cooking, e.g. soup, paella, fruit salad and ice cream. Wine and water are also served.

    The coastal climate of Valencia is very mild with average max. temperatures in winter of 13 C, and a.m.t in summer of 29C. The generally sunny conditions give moderate temperatures during the day, even in winter, although as soon as the sun disappears temperatures can drop quickly. Walking in summer is not recommended as temperatures can soar to 35C.

    Annual rainfall is between 400-500mm.

    Snowfall - Very occasionally on the highest peaks.


    Clients should provide suitable walking gear that includes a good pair of hiking boots. Although the climate is moderate, it is essential to have a water-proof jacket in the unlikely case of rain or snow. Adequate sun protection is essential (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses).
    The following are provided as part of the package: Kayaks, paddles and paddling equipment, safety gear, personal flotation devices, bicycles, helmets, gorging and abseiling equipment.

    Clients should provide their own toiletries, as well as suitable clothing for the activities (swimming costume for kayaking, hiking boots for trailing, comfortable shoes for cycling, wet shoes for cannyoning) as well as suitable sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses).
